Dr. Fr. Varghese J Pudussery did his thesis with UGC Fellowship on the topic "A study of the families of Drug Addicts". He did his post graduation in MS. ED and Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Pittsburgh USA. He is the Founding Director of Santwana Institute of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Kochi. He has made remarkable contributions in the field of Counselling. He received his doctorate in the year 1997. some of his publications are

Dr. Lizy James did her thesis on the topic "Family configuration of children with behaviour disorders -a socio-psychological approach". She received her doctorate in the year 1998. She worked as Senior Lecturer in Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Head of the Department of Social Work, Vimala College, Thrissur and worked in the capacity of Asst. Professor, Department of Sociology and Social Work, University of Asmara, Africa. Dr. Lizy is to take up an assignment at United Kingdom this month.Some of her publications include Articles on

  • Family Counselling in Family Court: An Analysis of Psychosocial Dynamics of Families of Litigants. Discussion Paper by Center for Development Studies    (CDS).

Dr. Mary Venus Joseph did her thesis on the topic "Impact of Mental health Orientation on School teachers". She received her doctorate in the year 1999. She has served Rajagiri College for 24 years in teaching and training and is presently the Head, Department of Social Work, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. Her publications include A BOOK on Mental Health in Classroom, published by Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and an Article on Child Mental Health - Loyola Journal of Social Sciences, Loyola College of Social Sciences.

Dr. Joseph I. Injodey did his thesis on the topic "Psychosocial problems of hospitalized cancer patients" .He received his doctorate in the year 2000. He served Rajagiri College as teacher, Co-ordinator. Presently he is the Principal, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. His publication includes an article on: "Social Rehabilitation of Released Prisoners in Kerala". A Psycho-Spiritual and Criminal- Social Quarterly on Correction and Reformation.

Dr. Pauline D’ Cunha did her thesis on the topic "A study on organizational climate in the hospital set up". She received her Doctorate in the Year 2000. She was Senior Lecturer in Rajagiri College for a period of 13 years and currently working in the field of Geriatric Social Work at United Kingdom.

Dr. Joseph K.A. did his thesis on the topic "A Study of rehabilitation of disabled persons in Kerala (A study with special reference to needs, problems and legislations)". He received his doctorate in the year 2004. Presently he is working as Selection Grade Lecturer, Loyola College of Social Sciences, and president of Ability AIDS India Limited. His is also an International Executive member of the Institute of Ability advancement, New York. He has published on Technology and care profession in India, Loyola Journal.

Under the guidance of Dr. Udaya Mahadevan
Dr. Stucky Devapadam did his thesis on the topic "A study of Muscular Distrophy in Patients, their emotional and social problems, personal and social functioning, coping mechanisms and social support networks". He received his Doctorate in the Year 1996. Stucky is the first doctorate degree holder of our Center for Doctoral Research. Presently he is working in the United Kingdom.

Under the guidance of Dr. Sr. Kochuthresia
Dr. Tomy Philip did his thesis on the topic "A comparative study on Mental Health of dual earner and traditional single earner families". He was previously the Asst. Professor, Indore School of Social Work. Presently he is the Reader at the Delhi School of Social Work, Delhi University. Some of his publications are Impact on Women’s Employment on Family and Marriage: A summary of Literature, published in Social change.; Impact of Occupational role functioning in psychological well being of women; published in Industrial Psychiatry Journal.

Dr. P.M. Mathew did his thesis with UGC Fellowship on the topic "Training & Empowerment of rural women in Kerala". He has held different offices as Programme Co-ordinator in COD, Kozhikode, Lecturer in Dept. of Social Work, Rajagiri College for 2 years. Presently he is the Head of the Department of Social Work at St. Joseph’s College Devagiri and also Chairman of MANUSHA, School of Social Research and Human Resource Development, Calicut. Some of his publications are Sthree Baharathashree, published by MANUSHA, Calicut; Training and empowerment of Rural Women in India published by Concert Publictions, Delhi. Dr. Jose Antony did his thesis on the topic "Adolescents creativity - a study with reference to self concept and achievement motivation". He received his doctorate in the year 2002. He started his career as a Lecturer in Social Work from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady from the year 1995 and presently he is the Head of the Department of Social Work. Some of his publications are Globalisation and its Impact on Health, Globalisation and General Impact on Kerala Society (published in MADHAVUM CHINTHAYUM - Philosophical quarterly published from Pontifical Institute., Aluva).

SOCIOLOGY

Dr. Ashili Mathew
did her thesis on the topic "Labour participation and social mobility among the Pulaya women of the rural Kerala". She received her Doctorate in the year 1996. She has worked with M.A. College, Kothamangalam for 22 years and retired as a reader in the year 2002. Currently she is the Head of the Department of MSW in Mar Basellious College, Kothamangalam and Principal of Canadian Central School, Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam.. One of her publication is "Interaction and Behaviour of Adolescent Alcoholic families" published in Kerala Sociologist in the year 2003.  

Dr. Sara Chacko did her thesis on the topic "Ethnicity in urban society, a study of Gujarathis in Kochi". She received her Doctorate in the year 1998. She has worked previously in Lady Doak College, Madurai. Presently, she is the reader and Head of the Department of Sociology at M.A. College, Kothamanagalam. Some of her publications are "Role of Teacher in Higher Education : 2000", "Cultural Heritage and Boundary Maintenance to Gujaratis of Kochi" at International Conference Held at Mahatma Gandhi University and Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi 1998.  

Dr. Saji. P. Jacob did his thesis on the topic "Secularization and commercialization in Kerala- A reexamination of concepts and process". He received his doctorate in the year 2003. He is presently working as Lecturer in Department of Sociology, Loyola College of Social Sciences. He held previous offices at Sacred Heart College, Thevara and Cooperative Arts and Science College, Madayi, Kannur. Some of his publications are "Development of the Secular and the Communal in Kerala" published by ISDA Journal in 1999, "Globalization of Academics and Marginalisation of Disciplines", "Secular Legacies and Communal Practices - the paradox of Kerala politics".   Under the guidance of Dr. Fr. Dr. Thomas K.O. did his thesis on the topic "Priests& Society - A Sociological Study of the role of catholic priests in Kerala". He was awarded Doctorate in the Year 2004. He is currently working as a Lecturer Don Bosco Alwaye.

MANAGEMENT

Dr. Jojo Paul did his thesis on the topic "Creativity in Advertising; Impact on Communication effect and Consumer Purchase Behaviour". He was awarded Doctorate in the Year 2002. He held different positions as Programme Co-ordinator in National Service Scheme, Bharath Matha College; Statistician in Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly; and Administrative Officer in Hyne Optician Pvt. Ltd in Angamaly. He is currently working as a Centre Coordinator, M.G. University Off Campus Centre, Bharat Matha College and Selection Grade Lecturer in Commerce, Bharat Matha College, Thrikkakkara.  

Dr. Sajeev M did his thesis on the topic "A study on the impact of ISO 9000 system on organizational climate as experienced by Public sector executives". He was awarded Doctorate in the Year 2003. He is currently running a Consultancy by name MAM Consultants Kochi. He is currently offering consultancy for companies / Organisations for the ISO 900:2000, ISO 14001: 1996, HACCO Certification, Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP) - implementation and EUREPGAP - Certification.

Dr. Charles M. Zakayo did his thesis on the topic "Stress & coping among managers in developing countries with special reference to Kenya" He received his Doctorate in the year 2003. He is presently Working in Kenya.  

Dr. Raman Nair did his thesis on the topic "Marketing of Financial services by commercial banks in Kerala - A case study of SBT" He received his Doctorate in the year 2004. He is presently Working as Chief Manager SBT - NRI Branch, Trivandrum.
